What this site stores about you, where, and for how long.

When you vote for a mod

Each vote is stored as one line: the mod you voted for, the day, and a scrambled value made from your internet address, the day and a secret. There is no name and no browser mark in it.

The scrambled value cannot be turned back into your address. It is used only to allow 30 votes per connection per day and one vote per mod per connection per day. A daily cleanup deletes it once it is 24 hours old, so it is kept for 24 to 48 hours. After that, the line holds only the mod and the day.

Your browser keeps a cookie named tz_mv with the list of mods you voted for from it, signed so it cannot be changed. It lasts one year and is sent only to our vote address. Delete it in your browser settings at any time.

The votes are stored with Neon, a database service, in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union).

Steam data

Mod names, numbers, tags and dates come from the Steam Web API once a day. We store them with the site and in Vercel Blob storage. We do not copy mod descriptions.

Mod pictures load straight from Steam's image server, so Steam (Valve) receives your internet address when a picture loads.

Hosting

Vercel hosts this site and runs the vote code.

No account

You never sign in. We cannot tell which votes are yours, so we cannot show or delete them for you. Deleting the cookie lets that browser vote again.
