Farms: mobs, herbs and Life Fruit

A farm brings loot to you instead of the other way round. The farm videos below build many kinds; this page covers the ones they share and the items each one needs.

Mob farms

A mob farm raises the enemy spawn rate and kills what spawns. Two items stack for more enemies: the Water Candle (Holding this may attract unwanted attention; its buff reads: Increased monster spawn rate) and the Battle Potion (Increases enemy spawn rate).

Build the farm away from your town, or use a Shadow Candle: Nullifies the peaceful benefits of towns. Many of the videos add the Rod of Discord to move in and out of the farm fast: Teleports you to the position of the cursor. Causes the chaos state.

Statue farms

Statues make creatures when they get a signal. Wire a statue such as the Slime Statue to a 1 Second Timer (Signals every second) with Wire (Carries signals between mechanisms. Use a wrench to place), and add traps such as the Dart Trap to kill what appears.

Herb farms

Potions need herbs such as Blinkroot and Glowing Mushroom. Plant them in a row of Clay Pot (Grows plants) and harvest with the Staff of Regrowth: Creates grass on dirt. Increases alchemy plant collection when used to gather.

Life Fruit farm

The Life Fruit grows on underground Jungle grass in Hardmode once a mechanical boss is down (One mechanical boss in our stage data). Each one reads: Permanently increases maximum life by 5. For a farm, place a long, flat strip of Mud Block and plant Jungle Grass Seeds on it (the seeds go only on mud), then leave it to grow while you explore.
